USEFUL TIPS AND FUN FACTS ABOUT MY TRADITIONAL WEDDING

GUUUUUYYYYYSSSSS! How have y’all been? What’s the latest at your end? Just finished the second phase of my examination, and I cannot be more thankful that it’s over…at least for now. I almost gave up at some point because it was beginning to become a burden, but all is fine now. I am a survivor. Aside the examinations, I have been dealing with my relocation to Lagos, my new home and new life, and my upcoming nuptials. You can imagine my life right now with all these to process and handle. It’s been a lot, but I’m holding on. Sometimes, I need a break and want to run away from my life, other times, the super woman in me shows up, and I show ‘’dem’’ who the boss is. Sincerely, a nice vacation wouldn’t hurt nobody at this point. Who has a spare ticket to Seychelles? Since I had my traditional wedding, I always knew I’ll do a post on a few things to do/not to do when planning a wedding. Thankfully, I have a real-life experience to share with you, and I can say I had a succe...

STORY OF MY LIFE: SLEEP IN ABUJA, WAKE UP IN LAGOS.

Dear Diary, I am back to Lagos. For the long haul this time. I have mixed feelings about this. One part of me is screaming a big ‘’NOOOOOO, this shouldn’t have happened’’, the other part is saying, ‘’okay, not that bad’’. Errrm, I cannot find the right words to describe how I feel. It’s a sleep in Abuja, wake up in Lagos thingy. To be fair, we were pre-informed. But we weren’t left with so much options to choose from. I think we had just two options. 1. Say yes and live happily ever after with them. 2. Say no and live happily ever after without them. I chose number 1, because the economic situation in this country wouldn’t even make you choose number 2 except there was a backup plan. So, I literally slept in Abuja and woke up in Lagos. 30-03-2017, we were reminded of our commitment to change base and we were to resume 03-04-2017. That is only a day interval (If you do not count the weekends). I had to pack up, book a flight, and make myself ready for the journey that will ...

NOT ALWAYS HOW YOU PLANNED IT

Hello beautiful people! I'm so happy to bring this good news to you. Let me be the first person to tell you that I am MARRIED! Yaaaaaaaaay!!! I truly am. Traditionally. And yes, I am married to the man of my dreams...seems so surreal and BOOM! at the same time. But that's not why we are here anyway. Let me give you the full gist of the relationship from the beginning. How it all started. Because you deserve to hear it from me and I share the little deets about my life with you innit? I'm sure MJ (My Jewel) will be like, ''naaaaaaaa, baby, you did not just say you want to discuss our private matters with your readers''. Yeah honey, I did say that. I am a blogger remember? I am about to wash our sparkling linen outside for the world to see. *tongue out* Or maybe I should just write my own ''On Becoming'' book (my Nigerian readers will understand better)? I'll try to be brief though, so I don't spill all the juices, in case I ch...

Christine Ogbeh, Samiya Oyekan-Ahmed and Uche Pedro Hi Guys, how have you all been without me? Bored right? Hahahaha...I thought as much. So, some interesting things have been happening in my life lately, and I'll love to share with you as the opportunity presents itself. One of it is, my event production course/mentoring programme which I started with The Wedding Guru. Let me give you a brief insight: The Wedding Guru is into bespoke wedding planning with services ranging from event designing and event planning. For some years now, I have nursed the business of event planning and I've also silently ''stalked'' the founder of The Wedding Guru; Mrs Christine Ogbeh. If you are familiar with social media, especially Instagram, the brand ''The Wedding Guru'' should not be new to you. My stalking has paid off finally, as Mrs Christine has my attention as her ''mentee'' (allow me to famz in peace please!) Lol. I register...

MY CALABAR EXPERIENCE - DECEMBER, 2016

Image
😊Hi BDiarians! I should actually cover my face in shame, I know. But since I'm already shamelessly in love with you, (that's a shame I don't regret), I have decided to just come back here and pick up from where we stopped. How have you all been? It's been how long again??? Can't believe I didn't even wish you lovelies a happy new year! My bad! I got so carried away with events that I would come here on some days, read through our convos, smile at myself and keep living my life. Lol. Such an almost lazy blogger! But don't even think I didn't have enough gist for you guys...that'll be a HUGE lie! I have never had so many things to write about at the same time than I do now. My head is full. I feel like we should just have a conference call and I'll let you in on all that has happened since we last spoke. I owe you guys this though...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Better late than never right? And happy new month too. It's February and the month of l...

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

Image
Truth be told, I had no plans to blog today. 10 days to the new year, and it’s beginning to settle in that 2016 is done and dusted. All I feel now is: AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE. Yes! No better title will do justice to how I really feel. I started this year on a low. Real low. At this time last year, I was fresh outta NYSC with no job or prospects. Even though I wanted the service year to end as quickly as possible, I was not sure what direction my life would take. I went back to my father’s abode with no plans for my life. Don’t get me wrong…I made alternative plans ahead of time. I wrote examinations for my Masters programme whilst I was still serving, I sent out CVs to different law firms and organisations, I wrote several examinations, attended interviews both within and outside my domain, and I spoke to a few persons about helping out with a job. I can say, I did all I could do, but, things didn’t work out as I envisaged. I was downcast, without a job, back at my father...

IN THE NAME OF HUSTLE...

I always thought (erroneously) that I didn't like kids so much. I felt this way because whenever I saw a kid, there was really not so much connection between us. It was either they cried so hard and I thought, maybe I wasn't so friendly, or I looked scary (of course not), or kids weren't just my thing. Then my niece came along, and the story changed. She literally grew on me! I love her with every fibre of my being, and I began to love all kids too. From random kids I met on the road, to kids at her school, to kids in church...you name it. There was this attraction to them, so much that whenever I see a kid, I always remember my niece, and I want to treat them as my own. And that's why, when issues pertaining to kids and their welfare arises, I take it seriously. I have learnt that these kids are little angels. You'll need to live with one to fully understand this. When God said ''I tell you, unless you change and become like little children , you will n...
