AN INSPIRING STORY AND THE LESSONS TO LEARN FROM IT

Hi Guys! How have y'all been?
Olajumoke: the breadseller.

So, the internet was agog a while ago about an event that happened coincidentally. An international Nigerian photographer (TY Bello) was in the middle of a photo shoot for another international star, when an ''Agege'' bread hawker photo-bombed the shoot. While the TY's crew hailed the photobomber to move away from the set of the photoshoot, TY in fact asked permission from the hawker to be featured with her agege bread. Pictures surfaced after the shoot, and people started asking if indeed the bread carrying lady was a model for the photoshoot. To our surprise, the agege bread seller's part was only a coincidence! TY Bello offered the photobomber (Olajumoke) a free photoshoot and makeover and she engaged other big names in the industry to help bring it to life; Bimpe Onakoya for makeup, Zubby Definition for hair and a short documentary on her by @emaedosio. In a week, Olajumoke had been featured on top magazines, CNN African voices and became brand ambassador to many companies and other business outlets.
                                          THE TRANFORMATION: Olajumoke; the model

Within a split second, her life changed! Her life took a new turn for greatness and purpose. It happened like magic. God is wonderful! Never lose faith or focus. Do not despise humble beginnings.

Since I read about this fortunate lady's story, I've had reasons to re-evaluate a lot of things in life. Oh! and this has nothing to do with me trying or wishing I am one ''Olajumoke'. It's more of us being instrument of assistance around us... If everyone can be a TY Bello.
TY Bello; The destiny helper

Lessons to learn from this...

1. ALWAYS OFFER TO HELP - In reality, you really do not have to do all the work. There are destiny helpers who'll help you bring your dream to life. You too can be a destiny helper, just give a push here and there, and help another person get on his/her feet. Interestingly, like a lit candle, you hardly lose light by lighting another candle.

2. BE ON YOUR GRIND - Evaluating this story, I always get Goosebumps anytime I think of the reverse situation; Imagine, if Olajumoke had decided not to go out to hawk bread that day...it's simple, she probably would not have met her breakthrough! Wow! Imagine all the opportunities she'll have missed! This lady hawks bread under the sun and makes around N500 daily for herself and her family, but, she never gave up. Grind! Grind!! Grind!!! Always be on your grind, you never know when your breakthrough will come. No time for self pity! Get up and get going! Your breakthrough may happen that day when you are less motivated to work or when you feel you have hit rock bottom.

3. SEE THE GOOD IN EVERY SITUATION - TY Bello could have politely asked Olajumoke to move away from her photo set. In fact, her crew did. But she saw a bigger picture; for aesthetics, for the shoot itself, for the photobomber, and lastly for herself. She explored the situation, and she wasn't wrong. She hit a goldmine! Stop the negativity, never pitch your tent with those who see on the face value only, never underestimate anyone, the bread hawker today can be an international model the next minute. Make the best out of a bad situation, that may just be your goldmine in disguise.

4. BY HELPING OTHERS, YOU HELP YOURSELF - I'm certain TY Bello never envisaged the kind of popularity and goodwill this singular event has earned her. She has unknowingly endeared the whole world to herself. She lifted someone up, and in turn, she got lifted up too! How interesting! The world is in awe of her gesture. She has done what a lot of wealthy people neglect to do; help others. She has reminded the world that you do not need to have it all to lend a helping hand...little drops of water, they say, make an ocean. Start from that neighbor who needs a little help with his children's school fees, or that petty trader who sell and make a profit of N200 per day under the hot sun. You can give her a little ''something'' to improve her earnings at the end of the day. But, if you sincerely cannot help someone to be better, please don't make his/her situation worse. Don't deprive a man of his meal ticket out of evil. Don't ask a lady to surrender her body to pay a debt she owe you. Don't subject a young child to slavery because his/her parents can't pay you the money they owe you. Just don't!

I hope you have learnt so much from this singular act just as I have. The world will be a better place if we can HELP EACHOTHER.

Love, love and more love sweethearts!

Now, who would believe I've been writing this article for close to two weeks now?! Work will not allow a lady to blog in peace *sigh*. LOL. Love you guys muchos!

    1. True! We can't rule out those kindness we show to people that later bounces back on us, but that should not deter us either. And, if you're reading this, and are one of those who repay good with evil, mend your ways. Don't spoil it out there for those in sincere need. Thanks Aunt FG, honored to have you here.
